BRAND DEVELOPMENT AND KEY ART PROGRESSION

This project hasn’t been released yet, but the key art and brand development are completed so we can begin promoting the film. This is more of a deep dive into the initial approach to key art and building a theatrical brand.

  • Sketch Phase

During this process, I sketch out various compositions and concepts to get a visualization of how I want the poster to turn out. This sketch phase is also coupled with layout research.

  • Photo Blocking

I proceed by blocking out various photos until I land on the photos I like best for the chosen composition. This is usually done with low-res assets and rough masking to conserve time.

  • Final Treatment

After I’ve settled on the composition and the chosen photos, I continue with my process: properly masking the full size images, light painting, color rework, texture and finishing touches to prep for print and digital distribution. The final poster tested 30% better in tested conversion metrics than the key art provided by the Sight filmmaker

Brand Development

Often times, we have to design the key art before we can determine the marketing brand kit. You can see that we sampled colors from the key art to use for our final marketing brand guide.

Brand guide was assembled with the assistance of our Marketing Graphic Designer: Chloe Hoye.
